I’ve been checking out Tomas Savinas’s build of the French battleship “Jean Bart” from Trumpeter in 1:350 scale. Right off the bat, the clean precision of the assembly is striking. Perfectly aligned structures give it almost a polished look, making it feel like a miniaturized piece of history. The seam lines are virtually invisible, which is not something you see every day.

Now, about the real “Jean Bart” — it’s got quite the history. After World War II, “Jean Bart” was one of the last battleships completed by the French. Armed and ready, it was more of a symbol of national pride in the 1950s. It didn’t see much action but stood as a testament to post-war rebuilding efforts. Just imagining it in its heyday, cutting through the waves, gives you a visual to work with while looking at this model.

This model stands out due to the care in its construction and the attention to historical detail. It’s a fun dive into naval history, all encapsulated in this neat build. Tomas’s work definitely makes it a piece worth admiring for anyone interested in maritime legacy.
