I’ve been checking out Aleksandr Afanasev’s build of the Hobby Boss 1:700 scale DPL projecta 877 Paltus, and the first thing that stands out is the clean build. The smooth lines and precision of the assembly are noticeable right away. The overall presentation makes the submarine look sleek and almost ready to glide through imaginary waters. There’s no visible glue smudges or uneven edges, which I think says a lot about the care taken in putting it together.

Now, did you know that the real KILO-class submarines were designed during the Cold War with a focus on stealth? These submarines were impressively quiet, earning them nicknames like “Black Hole” in Western navies. Their stealth capabilities allowed them to operate covertly, which was a huge advantage back in those tense times. It’s fascinating how these subs represented a leap in technology for their era, balancing both the offensive arsenal and silent operation.

What makes this model particularly interesting, in my opinion, is how it captures the essence of the original machines. The neat assembly, sharp lines, and history behind the real submarines combine to create something that’s fascinating to look at and delve into. It’s definitely a standout piece worth the attention of anyone interested in maritime models!
