The first thing that grabs attention in Vyacheslav Simonov’s build of the 1:35 scale Tiger I from Tamiya is the weathering. The worn, battle-hardened look really gives life to this model, especially with those muddy tracks and subtle scuffs on the turret. It’s like the tank has stories to tell, straight from the battlefields of yesteryear.

Speaking of history, the real Tiger I was a beast on the battlefield, with its thick armor and powerful 8.8 cm gun. Designed during World War II, it was meant to outmatch the Allied tanks it faced. From what I’ve heard, its sight on the battlefield was enough to send shivers down the spines of enemy soldiers. But you wouldn’t want to ride in one — it was notorious for its mechanical issues.

In this build, what really stands out is how the model captures that iconic, imposing stature. The weathering adds so much character, making it feel almost like a snapshot from the past. Vyacheslav’s work here is a delightful reminder of why these models are so compelling. It’s not only about replicating the vehicle but also about capturing its essence — and that’s why this model truly deserves a bit of admiration.
