I was checking out some photos of Kirill’s latest model — the LAV3 with the Cockerill 3105 turret — and it’s got my attention right off the bat. What really stands out is the weathering on the model. It’s subtle but effective, giving that realistic “been through a bit of mud” look without overdoing it. The detailing on the wheels and the turret is quite something; everything seems neatly put together. Kudos to Kirill for the clean assembly — that’s no easy task with a kit from Trumpeter, especially in the 1:35 scale.

This LAV3 is quite an interesting piece of machinery in real life too. From what I gather, it’s crafted for versatility, with enough firepower to back it up. The Cockerill 3105 turret is a neat addition, making it capable of handling a variety of missions. Just imagining the vehicle maneuvering through challenging terrains gives this model an extra layer of charm.

Back to the model, the paint job deserves a mention. It’s got a nice, even tone, and the weathering effects give it that “been there, done that” vibe without looking forced. I really enjoy how the subtle shading around the panel lines makes everything pop. Kirill’s knack for details shines through with little decals and markings that provide just the right amount of extra flair.

I find myself pondering if the slightly dusty look was intentional to depict a day after a mission or just a brief stint in the field. This kind of attention to detail really lets you appreciate the craftsmanship on display.

What truly makes this model intriguing is its balance between authenticity and creativity. The careful choice of weathering and paint gives it a lived-in feel while maintaining the crispness that model enthusiasts love. All in all, it’s a neat model that showcases some skillful craftwork.
