Just taking a look at Mihail’s ISU-122C model, and what immediately stands out is the fantastic weathering. The subtle touches of dirt and wear give it a realistic feel, almost like it’s been through some rugged terrain. It’s not overly done — just enough to add that bit of history to the piece.

Speaking of history, the real ISU-122C was a force to be reckoned with during World War II. Mounted with a 122mm gun, it was a beast on the battlefield, blending firepower with the sturdy chassis of the KV-1 tank. From what I’ve gathered, these were crucial in the Soviet push against Germany because they could effectively deal with both enemy tanks and fortified positions.

Back to the model, I’d say what makes it really interesting is the balance between detail and simplicity. The 1:72 scale makes it a manageable project, while Italeri’s kit provides all the essentials for a compelling build. The way Mihail has captured the essence of the real machine through thoughtful touches and careful construction definitely makes this a piece worth taking a closer look at.
