The first thing that catches my eye in Mihalych’s build of the Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.A is the clean and precise assembly. The lines are crisp, and the attention to detail is apparent throughout. Every component looks carefully thought out, making it a joy to examine every aspect of this 1:35 scale model from Dragon.

Now, a bit of history about the Panzer II: this tank was never meant to be a long-term vehicle. It was hastily developed to train crews as Germany prepared for war. Surprisingly, it ended up being a significant part of the early campaigns, especially in Poland and France. I always find it fascinating how something initially intended for training found such utility in real combat situations. A classic case of making the best of what you’ve got, I suppose.

Overall, what makes this model stand out is its neat execution and rich historical context. Mihalych’s work provides a nice glimpse into a piece of history that, while perhaps overshadowed by more famous tanks, played its own crucial role.
