Hey everyone, got quite the gem to share today! So, I’ve got my hands on this Dragon model of the Panther D (Mit 5cm KwK.39), scaled to 1:35 and let me tell you, for any model enthusiast or history buff, this is like holding a slice of the past in your hands. The detail is where it’s at. The crisp lines and intricacies in the construction made me pause for a good look. You know when a model just makes you stop and appreciate the craftsmanship? That’s exactly what this does.

First glance at the photos and it’s the paintwork that jumps out. The weathering is done with such finesse. Oleg Lebedev has really nailed it here. The blend of colors with that slightly worn effect gives the model a really authentic, almost “lived” aura. It’s like the thing just drove in from a dusty battlefield!

Speaking of battlefields, the historical chatter around these Panthers is fascinating. The Panther was a major piece of machinery during WWII, famed for its speed and firepower. Did you know that during the Battle of Kursk, Panthers were deployed in droves? While they weren’t without flaws—some mechanical hiccups for instance—they were certainly a formidable presence. Imagining them prowling through the European landscapes adds a whole new layer of excitement when building this model.

This little dive into history, combined with the meticulous craft that Dragon and Oleg bring to the table here, really makes it worth your while to have a go at assembling one yourself. It’s a rewarding journey into both craft and history, all wrapped into one.
