Taking a look at this model of the Junkers Ju 87 B-2 “Stuka,” what really catches my eye is the impressive weathering. Denis Kryazh did a fantastic job with it, giving the model a well-worn, authentic appearance. The subtle chipping and dirt on the wings and fuselage offer so much character, as if this plane has just returned from a mission. It’s not overdone—it feels just right.
A little snippet about the real Ju 87: this plane was infamous during World War II for its dive-bombing technique. Pilots would plummet toward their targets almost vertically, releasing bombs with precision. From what I’ve read, that wailing siren, known as the “Jericho Trumpet,” was designed to terrorize those on the ground. It was all about psychological impact, and quite effective at that.
What makes this model worth a closer look is the blend of detail and artistic techniques that Denis has achieved. Even in the small scale of 1:72 from Zvezda, it’s clear how much thought and care has gone into the build. The weathering really adds depth and story, making it a standout on any shelf.
