Just took a look at the photos of Sergey Afanasev’s 1:144 scale Tu-134a3 model from Zvezda, and what stands out to me immediately is just how clean the build is. The lines are sharp, and the finish looks neat — like it flew right out of a pristine hangar. The decals are in place nicely and give it an authentic look without any fuss. You can tell a lot of care was put into making sure this plane shines on its own, just like the real Tu-134 did in its time.
Speaking of the real thing, the Tu-134 had quite an interesting role back in the day. From what I remember, it was one of the mainstays of Soviet civil aviation, buzzing around the skies since the 1960s. It was the go-to for short to medium hauls, and its distinctive nose shape, often compared to the French Caravelle, gave it a unique silhouette in the sky — one that’s hard to mistake even today.
In a nutshell, this model is pretty engaging because it captures the essence of a classic aircraft while showcasing some clean modeling skills. It’s a great piece for anyone who loves aviation history or just appreciates a job well done. Makes you want to dive right into building another kit, doesn’t it?
