Looking at this 1:72 scale model of the F-105G “Wild Weasel” by Trumpeter, the first thing that catches my eye is the tidy build. The assembly looks clean, with smooth lines and a great paint job that gives this model a sharp, authentic feel. I can tell Gleb Eremin put a lot of care into crafting this aircraft. The subtle weathering highlights the panel lines nicely, adding a bit of depth without overdoing it.
Speaking of the real F-105G, it has a pretty exciting history. These planes were famous for their role during the Vietnam War, especially in suppressing enemy air defenses. Known as “Wild Weasels,” the F-105G was designed to lure out and destroy anti-aircraft weaponry. They had this risky job of flying bait in dangerous skies, which takes a certain kind of bravery — both from the pilots and the engineers behind the technology.
This model is a neat little piece that captures the spirit and history of the Wild Weasel. It’s those small details and the story behind the plane that make the model so fascinating. Whether you’re a history buff or just love aviation, it’s a kit well worth exploring.
