Just took a closer look at Andrey Dikiy’s model of the LaGG-3 (66 series) by Roden, and wow, the finish on this one is incredibly clean. The attention to detail in the painting is what’s catching my eye the most. I mean, those decals sit perfectly, and the subtle shading in the camouflage deserves some praise.

Speaking of the LaGG-3 itself, it’s quite a piece of history. This Soviet fighter was originally conceived as a new breed of aircraft using laminated wood, which was pretty innovative at the time due to the scarcity of metals during the early 1940s. While not the fastest or most agile, this plane marked a significant step in Soviet aircraft design during World War II.

What makes Andrey’s build worth admiring is how it captures the essence of the real plane with such meticulous detail. It’s not just another model on the shelf; you can almost imagine it soaring through the skies. The combination of clean assembly and thoughtful painting really makes it stand out. It’s these kinds of builds that keep the passion alive, both for collectors and history buffs alike.
