Looking at this Do-335 model, the first thing that caught my eye was how clean and precise it looks. The panel lines are sharp, and the paint job is meticulous. It’s not often that you see such neatness on a military model — usually, there’s a lot of weathering or battle damage depicted. But here, the smooth surfaces and crisp details give it a fresh-from-the-factory vibe, showing off Aleksandr Matveev’s skill with the Revell kit.
Speaking of the Do-335, this aircraft has a pretty unique background. It was one of the fastest piston-engine planes ever built and had an unusual design with a “push-and-pull” engine setup. From what I remember reading, the asymmetric power plant arrangement made it a beast in the air despite its bulky appearance. Still, it didn’t see much action because it came into the scene a bit too late during World War II.
This model really grabs attention with its elegance. Even though it doesn’t have the usual weathering effects that some enthusiasts go for, the accuracy and clarity make it worth checking out. It stands out as an example of how a straightforward approach can still pack a punch in the world of scale modeling.
