Checking out Andrey Kraskin’s P-47D model at a 1:35 scale is a real treat. The first thing that catches my eye is the paint job—the colors are spot on, giving off a realistic vibe without feeling over the top. The subtle weathering adds that lived-in feel which I always love to see. It makes me imagine the plane having just returned from a mission, rather than straight out of the factory.
The P-47D, or “Thunderbolt,” was a beast of a plane during WWII. Known for its rugged durability and impressive firepower, it played a huge role in providing air cover and ground support. I find it fascinating that despite its hefty build, it could really move when needed.
Getting back to the model, what really stands out are the panel lines and decals. They’re applied with such precision that they bring the whole piece to life. And the cockpit detail? Just outstanding. It’s clear that Andrey has put a lot of thought into every tiny element, making it all come together beautifully.
One little thing I noticed—those bright colors on the nose and wing tips add a bold touch, possibly hinting at squadron markings. I wonder if they imply a specific mission or event. It’s those kind of details that make you pause and think, adding a little mystery to the model.
Overall, what’s most striking about this model is how it captures the essence of the P-47D perfectly. It’s not just about looking good; it’s about feeling like you’re holding a piece of history. That’s what keeps me coming back to models like this—each one tells its own story and Andrey’s work on this really lets that story shine.
