Revell’s 1:72 scale Ne-177 A5 “Greif” really caught my eye, especially with tomheat’s impressive work on the build. Right off the bat, the color scheme stands out. The camouflage pattern is executed so well that it gives the model a lifelike appearance, and the subtle weathering adds a nice touch without overdoing it. It’s clear that attention to detail was a priority here.

Historically, the Ne-177 was quite a beast. From what I gather, it was intended as a strategic bomber during the World War II era, known for its range and payload capabilities. It’s the kind of aircraft that screams “imposing,” yet it never saw widespread use. I find it fascinating how such a powerful machine can end up as a footnote in aviation history.

Zooming in, the cockpit detailing is quite nice. The clear parts are crisp, and it’s amazing how the interior detailing is brought to life. I think these details really make the model pop — you can spend quite a while just admiring them. The decals are neatly applied, enhancing the model’s realistic look.

What really gets me is the precision of the build. The engine nacelles, with their spiral propellers, are spot on and the landing gear looks solid. I wonder if tomheat decided to depict it in an early mission condition, given the slight weathering — it looks as though it’s just rolled out onto the tarmac for its next sortie.

In the end, what I love the most about this model is the balance between accuracy and creativity. It’s a reminder that even lesser-known planes like the Ne-177 can become captivating subjects in the right hands. This build makes me appreciate the artistry behind modeling even more, seeing how history and craftsmanship blend seamlessly together.
