The first thing that jumps out when looking at Shkodnіk’s model of the Mi-24 is the meticulous paint job. The camouflage pattern is really well-done, blending the colors nicely while maintaining clear lines. From what I can see, the attention to detail is precise, and the overall presentation is crisp and tidy. There’s something about the care taken with this craft that stands out.

Thinking back to the Mi-24’s real-world reputation, it’s fascinating. Often referred to as the “flying tank,” this helicopter first saw action in the Soviet-Afghan war. It was known for its durability and capability to act both as a gunship and a troop transporter—a real multi-tasker of its time.

The assembly shows off some neat touches that deserve a mention. The rotor blades, in particular, caught my eye. They aren’t overplayed; just a subtle weathering that implies they’ve seen some action without overdoing it. It makes me wonder if Shkodnіk aimed to depict a specific era or battle-tested version of this chopper. Also, the cockpit glazing looks smooth, giving a realistic glass effect, which isn’t always easy to achieve at a 1:72 scale.

Personally, I feel the decals have been placed with care, adding authenticity to the model’s appearance. The little elements like that make a difference. I kind of wish I could have worked with Shkodnіk just to see how these effects were achieved. Who knows, maybe there’s a trick I haven’t learned yet?

What I love most about this model is its subtlety. It doesn’t shout—it’s just a solid representation of a historic piece of machinery. That attention to small details combined with a thoughtful approach to weathering and assembly makes this Mi-24 model really appealing.
