Scrolling through the photos, the first thing that catches my eye is the clean assembly and the subtle weathering on this Ki-48 model. The paintwork looks sharp, displaying crisp camouflage patterns, and there’s a nice touch of weathering that gives a sense of history without going overboard. It’s like bek captured this aircraft fresh out of its hangar, maybe just back from a mission.

The Ki-48, also known as the Lily, was a twin-engine light bomber used by Japan during World War II. From everything I’ve read, it was designed for fast, tactical operations. Seeing it in this miniature form somehow brings you closer to imagining those daring maneuvers in the skies.

Focusing on the details, I really like how the canopy framing was handled. It’s not easy to keep those lines so neat in a 1:72 scale. The decals are seamlessly integrated, not a hint of silvering, which is always a relief. I wonder if bek used a decal softener or if the surface prep was just spot on.

One thing that stands out to me is the precise panel lines. They really make the model pop, giving a depth that makes it hard to believe it’s all down to clever painting. And those wheels! They’ve got just the right amount of wear, showing bek’s attention to even the smallest parts.

For a personal favorite bit, I’d have to say the subtlety of the weathering is what makes this model so interesting. It tells a story without screaming ‘battle-hardened’. This Ki-48 feels like it’s in motion, even on a desk surface, just ready to take off on another sortie.
