Taking a closer look at Dmitriy’s Ka-29 model from Zvezda in 1:72 scale, what instantly caught my eye was the incredible attention to detail. The paintwork is sharp, with a camouflage pattern that really stands out. The subtle shading and panel lines add depth, making it seem like a miniaturized version of the real helicopter. There’s a fine balance here in the weathering too—enough to give it a battle-worn look without going overboard.

The Ka-29 has quite a backstory. It was developed during the Cold War as a military transport helicopter for the Soviet Navy. Known for its robustness and versatility, it was designed to operate in different challenging environments. I think Dmitriy captured this essence beautifully, especially with the way the antennas and small details have been highlighted.

One thing I really appreciate about this build is how neat everything looks. The decals are applied flawlessly, without any visible silvering, and they complement the realistic finish of the model. It takes real skill to achieve this kind of precision, especially at such a small scale.

I can’t help but wonder what techniques Dmitriy used for the weathering. Did he use washes or dry brushing? Either way, the skillful execution makes the model look like it’s just come back from a mission in a rough sea environment.

A fun fact about the real Ka-29 is its coaxial rotor system, which provides excellent stability and control. It’s a distinctive feature that Dmitriy has also captured well in the model.

Overall, my favorite aspect of this build has to be the carefully applied paint scheme and the subtle weathering that gives the model character. It’s these little things that make it stand out and reflect why Dmitriy’s work is so engaging to see.
