Looking at this F-4S “Phantom” model from Italeri, the weathering really stands out. The subtle touches give it an authentic look, like it’s seen some real action. Panel lines are nicely highlighted, adding depth and making it feel like a little version of the real deal. I can almost imagine it tearing through the skies during its heyday.

Speaking of history, the F-4S “Phantom” was a beast in its time. It was part of the VF-301 USN Reserve at Miramar, and from what I understand, these jets were a backbone of naval aviation during the Cold War. They weren’t just for show; they carried out serious missions, from air superiority to ground attack. It’s amazing to think about the role they played in keeping the peace during such a tense period.

This model, built by Sergey, captures the essence of the Phantom beautifully. The details and paintwork are on point, making it a great piece for any collection. It’s models like this that remind me why I love this hobby so much—transporting us back into history with each little detail.
